We address questions like: What do men look for in sportswear? What about women, teenagers, pre-teens. There are about as many preferences in what people are seeking in sportswear as there are sellers and manufacturers.

Let’s try to bring some order to this chaos. Let’s take a look at teens and jeans. Here is what Cheap sportswear found out.

The following is some information taken from an article written in August of 1996 by Kristi Ellis, the publication was: WWD.

Title: Why the West is best for Jeanswear.

Many manufacturers of jeans have settled in California. The list begins with Levi Strauss, the largest brand name apparel manufacturer in the world. Lucky Brand, Guess and Mossimo head a list that is growing daily. The manufacturers say they have no problem keeping up with trends from California. A Levi Strauss spokesperson says that styles should include those jeans from places other than New York.

LOS ANGELES - Laid back but not backward.

That's how California denim manufacturers describe the character of their businesses. Even though they may be three hours behind the fast-paced East Coast fashion center, they say they're not missing anything.

The makers also say that they often have the added convenience of having at least some, if not all, of their manufacturing on site - unlike most New Yorkers, who have to travel to their factories.

Cheap Sportswear also investigated how some marketers are targeting teens..

Title: C BRAND TARGETS TEENS FOR AFFORDABLE PREMIUM.

Stewart Adler is sure he knows what teens want in a pair of jeans. Adler, vice president of A&M Global Manufacturing Co., the parent of brands such as junior sportswear label Coolwear, will launch C Brand Premium for fall retailing. This full launch comes after a soft debut to select stores for spring. The brand is targeting the junior customer, but will offer premium constructed jeans at a $50 price point, he said.

"These girls really can't afford a pair of True Religions, but they want the look," Adler said. "Because of our relationship with factories in China, we are able to pull off this construction for a great price; not cheap, but a great price."

The result is a denim jeans collection of skinny, straight, boot-cut and wide-leg styles. Each has some element of trendiness - triple-thread stitching, acid washes, crinkled whiskering and embroidered pockets, just to name a few of the treatments. There's also a super-high-rise style with a 10-inch front rise and 13-inch back rise.

"These jeans are meant to stand out on the floor, so we are going toward the more fashionable bodies, not so much of the basics," Adler said.

The line is targeting better department and specialty retailers with a wholesale range of $20 to $35. In the near future, Adler said he would add a C Brand tops line to work with the denim. He also plans to offer each style in two fits - one for a true junior customer and another for a fuller-figured girl.

So, what is it you are looking for in high fashion cheap denim sportswear? As you can see from the above articles the possibilities are endless.
